Expedia named top place to work in 2017

Expedia is one of the best places to work for the second year, according to employees.

The Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Awards also saw ARM, HomeServe UK, and Mott MacDonald and Hays named in the top five.
Voted by employees

The Employees’ Choice Awards is in its ninth year and recognises the best places to work in the UK, Canada, the USA, France and Germany.
The winners are decided by employees’ company reviews. They are asked to share their views on the positives and negatives of working for their employer and provide advice on how they can improve.

In addition, employees also rate the CEO, how satisfied they are with their employer and key workplace attributes including career opportunities, benefits, culture and values.

Top rating

Expedia says it focuses on its people and culture and the happiness of its employees is at the heart of its objectives. Furthermore, employee reviews praised the leadership of the company. Some comments described how the company supports its employees with children and those dealing with other life events. One employee said that the bosses were great leaders and very accessible and communicated well with staff.

Other top employers

Other companies that scored top marks include ARM Holdings and Homeserve who say they take pride in creating environments that their staff are proud to work in. Employee reviews include comments on innovation and investment in staff training. Some of the feedback described how there is a strong focus on customers and employees and staff can really thrive there.
