Harriet is a level 7 CIPD qualified HR Advisor who joined HR Solutions in April 2021 as part of our Client Services Team.

We welcome Harriet’s generalist HR and Employee Relations experience as she helps HR Solutions to deliver first class HR support to our clients across the UK.  She also supports our HR Consultants on a wide range of HR projects including but not limited to contracts, handbook reviews and policies.

With a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources Management, PGDip and an undergraduate degree in Psychology, BSc (Hons), Harriet originally wanted to do a Master’s in Occupational Psychology straight after university. She decided to enter the working world and try HR instead and hasn’t left the profession since.

Early on in her career, Harriet gained experience with an external HR provider. After completing her Level 7 CIPD qualification there, she then gained inhouse HR experience in the legal and manufacturing sectors. She has enjoyed working in Cambridgeshire and Leeds but has now settled in Northamptonshire.

Harriet’s hobbies involve travelling and exploring new places, either abroad or weekend breaks around the UK. In 2018 she took a mini career break to travel around South East Asia and is currently planning an exotic honeymoon!

Harriet’s Q&A

What is your greatest personal achievement?

I (somehow!) managed to run half a marathon for Alzheimer’s Research UK. It was a huge achievement for me, having never run in my life! It was a great event which I did with my family and collectively we raised over £5,000 for the charity.

What is your favourite quote?

Roald Dahl’s quote “a person who has good thoughts, cannot ever be ugly”. I’m a firm believer that kindness breeds kindness and always stand by “treating others how you’d want to be treated.” I think this quote alone is fundamental for me in my HR career.

What is your favourite place to visit and why?

Vietnam is one of the most beautiful countries I have ever been lucky enough to visit. I loved how incredibly different and amazing the cities are; and my highlight has to be kayaking through Halong Bay.

What do you wish other people knew about HR Solutions?

The amount of knowledge and expertise that this small company holds, I think is incredible. We are forever learning and debating with each other which helps us remain on top of our game. I’ve never worked for such a friendly and supportive company and feel very lucky and proud to work here (and no, I haven’t been paid to say this!).
