On 12 July 2018, the Government confirmed the intention that no employment laws which are based on EU legislation will be repealed.
This Brexit update was confirmed in the release of the White Paper called ‘The Future Relationship between the United Kingdom and the European Union’.
Although this will still need to be confirmed in a deal with the EU, it means that employers are unlikely to face revisions to their contracts and practices as we currently know it. Whilst this means it is unlikely that rules around redundancy consultations will be relaxed, it also means that perks such as the increased annual leave entitlement afforded to UK nationals under the Working Time Regulations is unlikely to be diminished!

So far, the situation is normal, there’s nothing you have to add to that to-do list! However, feel free to re-visit our webinar recording, ‘Managing the Impact of Brexit‘, which you can watch on demand.
