On 15 March 2022, the Ukraine Family Scheme was opened for applications. The Ukraine Family Scheme is for those with immediate and extended family members of either British nationals or those who have settled status in the UK, as well as other residents.
For those who are granted their visa under this scheme will have certainty and security about remaining in the UK for three years with their UK-based family member. The visa is free to apply to and does not have any salary or language requirements.
For those who do not have any ties to the UK, the “Homes for Ukraine” refugee scheme has been launched.
Homes for Ukraine is where sponsors like communities, private sponsors or local authorities, can bring those forced to flee Ukraine here to the UK.
Those who are granted the visa under this scheme will be granted leave for three years and be able to work, access education, and have access to public services.
