Brexit and the Year Ahead (Free Webinar)

No one can fully understand what will happen with Brexit, either way, and we don’t pretend to. However, in the short term, what we do know is that we are already starting to see the face of HR and employment law being re-shaped by Brexit. With forward planning, HR practices can support a business with riding the wave of uncertainty and in this webinar, we will begin to indicate how.

Through a HR perspective, we will respond to the hopes and fears our delegates bring to the session and provide practical support with matters such as:

– Looking at what legislative changes are on the horizon, particularly regarding EU law currently implemented in the UK.
– Providing practical strategies on how employers may safely adapt their compliance practices in the light of any employment law changes that may come about.
– Adapting policies in line with changes to the law.
– Using this time of change and uncertainty to modernise your HR practices to help get ahead of your competitors by improving your employer brand in the process.
– Responding to concerns of your EU national employees.

Parental Bereavement (Leave and Pay) Act 2018 (Free Webinar)

Currently, an employer is not automatically obligated to permit a parent to have authorised absence from work to mourn the recent loss of a child. This may seem surprising to some, but it is in line with the fact that there is no statutory right to compassionate leave.

The criteria which will surround parental bereavement leave and pay went through consultation which ended in June 2018. The responses were reviewed, and the details of the Act have been published meaning that HR departments and managers can now start planning (or revising) their approach, procedures and policies, so they may ensure they can at least get the basics handled correctly at such a tragic time. There is not yet a specific date for when this will be enforced, but it is likely to be in 2020 at the latest.

You will leave feeling that you can approach these situations with confidence, significantly reduce risk, save time and support your business.

The absence management topics we’ll cover are:
