Updating CVs and interview preparation
Often CVs and Interviews are seen as the age-old norm so applicants will spend hours on job-sites but merely pull out the old CV and add an update. For interviews the preparation focus might overbalance towards researching the organisation (or its website). To proactively face the increasingly competitive market today, to equip yourself to the max, a CV will often benefit from a total overhaul. We might also benefit hugely from a rethink of our approach to the interview too, especially a remote one. Not only will this improve the documentation (be it CV or application form) but will start to reposition you fully – reflecting, recognising and focusing on skills and competencies which are often overlooked and undersold.
In this webinar HR Solutions are joined by Claire Rogers, a specialist in career transition and outplacement. We examine some simple ways to identify (and be proud of) skills and strengths. We consider CV formats and trends taking this through to interview preparation aimed at maximising self-marketing. We all now, more than ever, need to show multi disciplinary skills, demonstrate flexibility in the new environment, and enhance transferability. This will apply no matter what the future path looks like, internally (new structure), external job search, self employment, volunteering or a mix.
